Regular Season Round 19: Costa Masnaga - Bolzano 81-60

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Costa Masnaga (8-11) crushed at home 12th ranked Bolzano (5-14) 81-60 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Costa Masnaga. Bolzano was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Costa Masnaga shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Masha Maiorano (180-82, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 4 assists. Swingman Alessandra Visconti (187-87) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Costa Masnaga players scored in double figures. Costa Masnaga's coach Gabriele Pirola felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Elena Zambarda (180-87) answered with 26 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bolzano. Costa Masnaga moved-up to eighth place in A2. Bolzano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Costa Masnaga will face higher ranked Albino (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bolzano will play against Carugate (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
