Second Stage Round 6: Wetterbygden - Helsingborg 81-84

Date: February 14, 2016
The most exciting game of round 6 in the Basketettan took place in Huskvarna. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Wetterbygden (8-6) to third ranked Helsingborg (9-6) 84-81 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Wetterbygden. It was a key game for the second position in BEHS forts. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 25-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Helsingborg made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Wetterbygden outrebounded Helsingborg 46-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Wetterbygden helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Erik Joelsson (198-97) who scored 29 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Erik Persson chipped in 24 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jonathan Peleg (191-94) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Eddie Alm (187-95) added 22 points respectively. Wetterbygden's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Helsingborg moved-up to second place in BEHS forts, which they share with Trelleborg. Newly promoted Wetterbygden dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Helsingborg is looking forward to face Lobas (#6) in Lomma in the next round. Wetterbygden will play on the road against Boras II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
