Regular Season Round 21: Angelico BI - Rieti 77-73

Rather expected game when 13th ranked Rieti (8-13) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Angelico Biella (10-11) 77-73 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But Rieti won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Jazzmarr Ferguson (185-89, college: IU Southeast) stepped up and scored 27 points and 9 assists for the winners and the former international forward Simone Pierich (199-81) chipped in 16 points. The best for the losing side was point guard Davide Parente (188-83) with 21 points and American forward Rakeem Buckles (201-90, college: FIU) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Rieti players scored in double figures. Angelico Biella maintains eleventh place in A2 with 10-11 record. Newly promoted Rieti keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Angelico Biella will face higher ranked Agropoli (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rieti will play against Novipiu Casale (#10) and hope to win that game.
