Regular Season Round 27: Froya Basket - Asker Aliens 94-79

Rather expected game in Laksevag where 8th ranked Asker Aliens (9-9) were defeated by fifth ranked Froya Basket (10-6) 94-79. Asker Aliens were ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 52-28 second half run of Froya Basket. They outrebounded Asker Aliens 50-27 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Latvian guard Edmunds Gabrans (188-79) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Peter Bullock (198-82, college: Alaska-Anch.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Froya Basket's coach Brent Hackman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) answered with 50 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Latvian forward Alvis Eglitis (195-85) added 5 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Asker Aliens. Froya Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 10-6 record. Defending champion Asker Aliens dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Froya Basket will have a break next round. Asker Aliens will play at home against Kongsberg (#3) and hope to win that game.
