Regular Season Round 19: AZS PGd - Pelplin 81-64

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked AZS PGd (12-7) won against 4th placed Pelplin (11-7) in Gdansk 81-64 on Sunday. AZS PGd dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Pelplin's 26. AZS PGd forced 23 Pelplin turnovers and outrebounded them 40-21 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Lukasz Jaskiewicz (202-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. Center Przemyslaw Rduch (208-86) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Julian German (188-98) answered with 12 points and the former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) added 12 points in the effort for Pelplin. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS PGd moved-up to fourth place in Group A. Newly promoted Pelplin dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. AZS PGd will face Koscian (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pelplin will play against the league's leader Kotwica (#1) and hope to win that game.
