Regular Season Round 21: Eco Orebro - Malbas 80-56

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Malbas (10-15) were crushed on the road by tenth ranked Eco Orebro (4-19) 80-56 on Sunday. The game without a history. Eco Orebro led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Eco Orebro outrebounded Malbas 37-22 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Jordan Peltier (193-95) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Hungarian power forward Miklos Szabo (204-86, college: Hofstra) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Five Eco Orebro players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Carl Engstrom (216-91, college: Alabama) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Darion Rackley (190-92, college: Jacksonville St.) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively. Malbas' coach Henrik Svensson gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Eco Orebro maintains tenth place with 4-19 record, which they share with Umea. Newly promoted Malbas keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. Eco Orebro will meet at home higher ranked LF Basket (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Malbas will play against the league's second-placed Norrkoping Dolphins (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
