There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Casalpusterlengo (11-10) edged on the road second-best Agrigento (14-7) 78-77 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 1 point. American forward Kyle Austin (203-88, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: SPORTlab Agency) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was guard Marco Evangelisti (198-84) with 20 points and 4 assists and American swingman Kelvin Martin (195-89, college: Charleston So.) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Casalpusterlengo moved-up to seventh place in A2. Loser Agrigento keeps the second position with seven games lost. Casalpusterlengo will face Lighthouse TR (#9) in Trapani in the next round. Agrigento will play on the road against FCM Ferentino (#5) and hope to win that game.
