Regular Season Round 21: Scauri - Scafati Cesarano 87-72

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Scauri (12-9) beat at home 6th ranked Scafati Cesarano (12-9) 87-72 on Sunday. The former international power forward Simone Bagnoli (205-81) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) for the winners and naturalized Argentinian point guard Dante Richotti (180-85) chipped in 6 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was center Biagio Sergio (199-86) with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Vincenzo Di Capua (186-87) scored 20 points. Scauri moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Vicenza. Scauri will face league's leader Roma E-basket at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Scafati Cesarano will play against Catanzaro (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
