Regular Season Round 38: Fukuoka Rizing - Kyoto Hannar. 77-86

BJ League top team - Kyoto Hannar. (25-7) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (14-20) 86-77. The guests were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-17 Fukuoka Rizing's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 86-77 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Kyoto Hannar. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and swingman Shingo Utsumi (188-84) supported him with 18 points. Five Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) did not help to save the game for Fukuoka Rizing. His fellow American import forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) added 14 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kyoto Hannar. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-7 record. Fukuoka Rizing at the other side keeps the eighth place with 20 games lost. They share the position with Gunma. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Shiga L-Stars (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Osaka Evessa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
