Regular Season Round 19: Marghera - Alpo VR 65-53

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Alpo VR (9-10) lost to ninth ranked Marghera (8-11) in Venezia 53-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Marghera. Alpo VR was better in fourth quarter 12-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Argentinian guard Laura Nicolini (174-75) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Carla Fabris (185-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds and guard Giulia Monica (169-87) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) in the effort for Alpo VR. Despite that victory Marghera went down to tenth position (A2) due to points difference. Alpo VR at the other side keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Marghera will face Scrivia (#12) on the road in the next round.
