Regular Season Round 10: Moutahed - Tadamon 78-81

The most exciting game of round 10 in the Pepsi LBL took place in Tripoli. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Al Moutahed (4-5) to seventh ranked Tadamon (4-5) 81-78 in the game for the fifth place. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Tadamon made 34-of-45 free shots (75.6 percent) during the game, while Al Moutahed only scored fifteen points from the stripe. They outrebounded Al Moutahed 41-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Al Moutahed helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian swingman Branko Cvetkovic (200-84) scored 29 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Jamaican-American guard Corey Williams (191-77, college: Alabama St.) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) responded with 27 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Al Moutahed players scored in double figures. Tadamon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sagesse and Moutahed. Tadamon is looking forward to face Sagesse (#7) in Beirut in the next round. Al Moutahed will have a break next round.
