There was an upset when higher ranked Agropoli (12-9) was outplayed on the road by twelfth ranked Virtus Roma (9-12) 93-55 on Sunday. The game without a history. Virtus Roma led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Agropoli's 30. Virtus Roma forced 23 Agropoli turnovers. American-Danish guard Alan Voskuil (191-86, college: Texas Tech) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and American-Nigerian Jamal Olasewere (201-91, college: LIU Brooklyn) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Virtus Roma players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Canadian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Brazilian Jonathan Tavernari (197-87, college: BYU) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Virtus Roma maintains twelfth place in A2 with 9-12 record. Newly promoted Agropoli dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Virtus Roma will face Viola RC (#14) in Reggio Calabria in the next round.
