The game in Saldus was also quite interesting. 5th ranked VEF skola (6-6) played at the court of sixth ranked Saldus (7-5). Saldus defeated VEF skola 91-80 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Saldus. VEF skola managed to win third quarter 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Saldus forced 22 VEF skola turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by VEF skola's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Krists Piternieks (202-87, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 9 rebounds and guard Janis Baca (195-90) who added 16 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Saldus' coach Edgars Buikis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Kristaps Feikners (188-97) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and guard Roberts Ikaunieks (195-97) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saldus moved-up to fifth place. VEF skola lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Marupe. Saldus will meet Marupe (#7) in the next round. VEF skola will play against ViA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
