Second Stage Round 5: Tsmoki II - COR-Borisfen 69-70

Fourth-ranked Tsmoki II (8-10) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked COR-Borisfen (14-5) in Minsk on Tuesday. The visitors from Mogilev managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 23-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Evgeni Sugonyako (199-92) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Andrei Aheyenka (194-92) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Roman Rubinshteyn (195-96) answered with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and forward Maksim Lyutych (200-97) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Tsmoki II. Four Tsmoki II players scored in double figures. COR-Borisfen maintains second place with 14-5 record having five points less than leader Vitebsk. Tsmoki II lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. COR-Borisfen are looking forward to face Impuls BGUIR (#3) in Minsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tsmoki II will play at home against the league's leader Grodno-93 and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
