Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Souffelweyersheim (8-10) lost on the road to third ranked ALM Evreux (12-6) 101-84 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by ALM Evreux. Souffelweyersheim was better in third quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ALM Evreux dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Souffelweyersheim's 36 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. ALM Evreux forced 19 Souffelweyersheim turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard B.A. Walker (188-84, college: VCU) contributed with 13 points and 9 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Matthew Gibson (195-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Jarryd Cole (205-88, college: Iowa) added 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Souffelweyersheim. Five ALM Evreux and four Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. Souffelweyersheim's coach gave the chance to play for ten players seeing no chance for a win. ALM Evreux have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Boulogne. Souffelweyersheim lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. ALM Evreux will face Saint-Quentin (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Souffelweyersheim will play against Provence Basket and hope to win that game.
