The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Villa Clara as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Villa Clara defeated 4th placed Tigres in Santa Clara 91-79. Villa Clara forced 19 Tigres turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Andy Boffil (190-82) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Didier Gonzalez contributed with 19 points and 4 steals for the winners. Yoanny Balde answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Keiler Cala (195-94) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Tigres. Five Villa Clara and four Tigres players scored in double figures. Tigres' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tigres lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Tigres will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Villa Clara will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Tigres in Camaguey.
