Regular Season Round 20: TTU - TLU/Kalev 94-103
Date: February 16, 2016
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tallinn: TLU/Kalev (#4) and TTU (#8). TTU was defeated at home 94-103 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-17 TTU's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 103-94 at the end of the game. TLU/Kalev made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. TLU/Kalev had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. TTU was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (188-92, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Tom Droney (197-91, college: Davidson) who added 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Kiur Akenparg (190-88) responded with 19 points and the former international forward Toomas Raadik (201-90, agency: Promotex) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TLU/Kalev maintains fourth position with 12-8 record. TTU lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. TLU/Kalev will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. TTU will play on the road against BC Rakvere (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
