Date: February 16, 2016
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Rapla (13-7) against fifth ranked BC Rakvere (9-10) on Tuesday night. Host Rapla was defeated by BC Rakvere in a tough game in Rapla 74-79. Rapla trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 33-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-79 at the end of the game. BC Rakvere dominated on the defensive end, holding Rapla to just 4 points in third quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BC Rakvere made 7 blocks. The winners were led by Latvian guard Reinis Strupovics (190-87) who scored that evening 28 points and American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-87, college: S.Carolina) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds by Dutch center Thomas van der Mars (208-90, college: Portland) did not help to save the game for Rapla. American guard Devin Brooks (186-92, college: Creighton) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Four Rapla players scored in double figures. BC Rakvere maintains fifth position with 9-10 record. Loser Rapla keeps the third place with seven games lost. BC Rakvere will meet at home TTU (#8) in the next round. Rapla will play against Valga (#7) and hope to secure a win.
