Second Stage Round 7: KFUM Uppsala - KFUM Central 80-75

There was no surprise when 7th ranked KFUM Central (2-7) lost on the road to third ranked KFUM Uppsala (7-3) 80-75 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 5 points. KFUM Uppsala forced 19 KFUM Central turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Quite impressive performance for guard Lukas Friberg (190-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Jonathan Stalberg (192-96) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four KFUM Uppsala players scored in double figures. Guard Mikael Banks (191-81) answered with 27 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Johan Westerlund (191-84) added 29 points (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field) in the effort for KFUM Central. KFUM Central's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. KFUM Uppsala maintains third place in Superettan with 7-3 record having just two point less than leader Solna Branten. Newly promoted KFUM Central keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. KFUM Uppsala will have a break next round. KFUM Central will play at home against IK Eos (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
