Regular Season Round 22: Lecco - Battaglia 82-67

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Lecco (14-7) defeated at home 15th ranked Battaglia (4-17) 82-67 on Wednesday. Battaglia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (202-93, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Polish center Michal Bialkowski (199-95) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Serbian David Paunovic (198-95) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Lecco and four Battaglia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lecco have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in B. Loser Battaglia keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Lecco will face Crema (#5) on the road in the next round. Battaglia will play against Volpino (#12) and hope to win that game.
