9th ranked Toros (6-12) were defeated at home by sixth ranked Guaiqueries (8-10) with the biggest margin this round 100-88 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Guaiqueries. Toros was better in third quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Toros 45-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. Guaiqueries shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Worth to mention a quality performance of Dominican Victor Liz (188-86) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and Puerto Rican guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91) who added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Guaiqueries players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Rafael Perez (193-82, agency: Paris Global Sports) with 32 points and the former international center Alejandro Barrios (204-79) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Guaiqueries maintains sixth position with 8-10 record. Loser Toros keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
