Regular Season Round 24: Sokol Lancut - GKS Tychy 73-67

An interesting game for Sokol Lancut (21-3) which hosted in Lancut 4th ranked GKS Tychy (15-9). Second ranked Sokol Lancut managed to get a 6-point victory 73-67. Sokol Lancut dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to GKS Tychy's 30. Sokol Lancut forced 21 GKS Tychy turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Jerzy Koszuta (192-82, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Marcin Plawucki (177-89) contributed with 18 points for the winners. The former international power forward Wojciech Barycz (208-84, agency: Interperformances) replied with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks and power forward Tomasz Bzdyra (200-83) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for GKS Tychy. Sokol Lancut have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-3 record having just two points less than leader Krosno. GKS Tychy at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Sokol Lancut are looking forward to face Slask 2 Wroclaw (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. GKS Tychy will play against Notec Inowr. (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
