Regular Season Round 19: AZS PP - Gornik Walbrzych 49-65

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Gornik (16-3) beat 8th ranked AZS PP (6-13) in Poznan 65-49 on Wednesday. Gornik made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for Marcin Wrobel (200-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Rafal Glapinski (183-82) contributed with 12 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Gornik players scored in double figures. Center Szymon Budnikowski (200-84) answered with 8 points and 14 rebounds and Wojciech Pawelczyk (196-93) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for AZS PP. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Gornik. They maintain second place in Group D with 16-3 record behind leader AZS AGH Alstom. AZS PP lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Gornik will face Sudety (#5) in Jelenia Gora in the next round. AZS PP will play on the road against Gniezno and hope to win that game.
