Very expected game when 14th ranked Isernia (4-18) was rolled over on the road by seventh ranked Empoli (13-9) 87-52 on Wednesday. Empoli outrebounded Isernia 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. Forward Filippo Mascagni (195-93) fired 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Michele Bei (200-90) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Empoli players scored in double figures. Guard Alessandro Werlich (180-95) produced 11 points and swingman Alessandro Guagliardi (194-94) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Empoli moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Vicenza. Loser Isernia keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Empoli will face higher ranked Palermo (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Isernia will play against Cassino (#4) and hope to win that game.
