Regular Season Round 20: Villa Clara - Camaguey 86-55

Date: February 17, 2016
The game between Top Four teams took place in Santa Clara. First ranked host Villa Clara (13-5) smashed 4th ranked Tigres (7-10) 86-55. Villa Clara forced 20 Tigres turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Alejandro Romero who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Osvaldo Perez who added 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Villa Clara players scored in double figures. Forward Keiler Cala (195-94) responded with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks and Yoanqui Mersia scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Villa Clara maintains first position with 13-5 record. Tigres lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Guantanamo. Villa Clara are looking forward to face Capitalinos (#3) in La Habana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tigres will play at home against Los Toros and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
