Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Ravenna (13-10) won against on the road 15th ranked Recanati (4-18) 66-50 on Wednesday. American power forward Taylor Smith (200-91, college: SF Austin) fired 7 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Eugenio Rivali (178-86) chipped in 13 points. Ravenna's coach Antimo Martino used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American center Kenny Lawson (207-88, college: Creighton) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Ravenna maintains seventh position in A2 with 13-10 record. Loser Recanati keeps the fifteenth place with 18 games lost. Ravenna will face Legnano (#13) in Castellanza in the next round where they are favorite. Recanati will play on the road against Matera and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
