There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Trecate (1-21) defeated at home 14th ranked Bottegone (6-16) 76-64 on Wednesday. Forward Patrick Grossini (193-79) fired 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Luca Taffettani (185-1) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Trecate's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Fiorello Toppo (198-80) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and guard Filippo Giannini (180-91) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Trecate maintains sixteenth position in B with 1-21 record. Loser Bottegone keeps the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. Trecate will face higher ranked Livorno (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
