Regular Season Round 11: ICIM Arad - SBS Ostrava 40-60

Czech SBS Ostrava can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Arad, where they outplayed Romanian ICIM Arad (5-2) 60-40. The game was mostly controlled by SBS Ostrava. ICIM Arad was better in second period 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ICIM Arad to just 5 points in fourth quarter. SBS Ostrava forced 28 ICIM Arad turnovers and outrebounded them 46-29 including a 24-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. A Kubickova orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Anna Pavlicova (169) contributed with 7 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Adela Mercea (170-85) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Szilvia Spier (174-0) added 7 points in the effort for ICIM Arad. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SBS Ostrava maintains ninth place in Group B with 1-7 record. ICIM Arad at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost.
