Regular Season Round 18: Gimle - Bergen 85-60

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bergen: Gimle (#4) and Bergen (#5). Gimle (10-6) smashed visiting Bergen (4-10) by 25 points 85-60. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-60. Gimle forced 28 Bergen turnovers and outrebounded them 47-33 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Ingrid Gjerdevik (169-92) who scored 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Julie Winther (178-87) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Gimle players scored in double figures. Gimle's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Kaia Brendesater (169-99) who recorded 17 points and guard Kristin Hannestad (175-97) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Gimle have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-6 record. Bergen at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Gimle are looking forward to face Hoybraten (#6) in Oslo in the next round. Bergen will play on the road against the league's leader Ullern in Oslo and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
