Very expected game when 12th ranked Vasto (7-15) was rolled over on the road by fifth ranked Ortona (15-7) 68-47 on Thursday. Power forward Gianluca Di Carmine (200-86) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Fabrizio Gialloreto (185-87) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. Guard Vincenzo Di Pierro (175-79) produced 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Serbian forward Marko Jovancic (195-93) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Ortona maintains fifth position in B with 15-7 record. Loser Vasto dropped to the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Ortona will face higher ranked Campli (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vasto will play against the league's second-placed San Severo (#2) and hope to win that game.
