Regular Season Round 39: Halc.Rojos - Santos 96-74

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Halcones Rojos (20-17) crushed 9th ranked Santos (11-24) in Veracruz 96-74 on Thursday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Lonnie Ellis Vasquez (198-83, college: Mississippi Coll.) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Matt Glover (196-91, college: USF) accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. American forward Chris Cayole (201-85, college: St.Michael's) came up with 27 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Victor Mariscal (198-72) added 16 points respectively for Santos in the defeat. Halcones Rojos maintains fourth place with 20-17 record. Santos lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the ninth position with 24 games lost. They share it with Panteras. Halcones Rojos will again meet at home Santos (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Santos will have a break next round.
