No shocking result in a game when first ranked Montegrano (20-2) smashed on the road 11th ranked Porto S.Elpidio (8-14) 79-59 on Thursday. Montegrano shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Point guard Marco Rossi (183-81, agency: SPORTlab Agency) fired 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Manuel Diomede (188-90, agency: Two Points) chipped in 15 points. Montegrano's coach Furio Steffe used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Diego Torresi (200-92) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Lorenzo Andreani (190-87) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Montegrano maintains first position in B with 20-2 record, which they share with Udine APU. Loser Porto S.Elpidio dropped to the tenth place with 14 games lost. Montegrano will face Senigallia (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Porto S.Elpidio will play against Mola and hope to win that game.
