Very predictable result when second ranked Rivas Promete (15-4) beat on the road 14th ranked Barcelona (2-17) 63-59 on Friday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 15-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Marta Blanes (184-77, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 8 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Ana Alonso (187-90) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and power forward Claudia Baraut (185-94) added 5 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rivas Promete. They maintain second place in Group B with 15-4 record having just two points less than leader Alcobendas. Newly promoted Barcelona keeps the fourteenth position with 17 games lost.
