LEB Gold top team - Palencia Baloncesto (19-3) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked CB Prat (6-16) 94-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CB Prat. The game without a history. Palencia Baloncesto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Palencia Baloncesto dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to CB Prat's 36. Palencia Baloncesto forced 23 CB Prat turnovers. Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American power forward Lamont Barnes (208-78, college: Temple) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Palencia Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Montenegrin center Zoran Nikolic (211-96) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Xavier Forcada (194-88) added 17 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Palencia Baloncesto maintains first position with 19-3 record. Loser CB Prat stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Forca Lleida. Palencia Baloncesto will meet Cocinas.com (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. CB Prat will play against the league's second-placed Melilla Baloncesto and hope to secure a win.
