Regular Season Round 21: Santiago - Ciego de Avila 60-85

The game in Santiago supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Ciego (13-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Santiago (5-13). Ciego smashed Santiago 85-60 on Friday. The former international point guard Yasser Rodriguez (187-88) stepped up and scored 29 points for the winners and guard Dainier Martinez (184-96) chipped in 20 points and 6 steals. Four Ciego players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Julio Heredia (183-93) with 14 points, 5 assists and 7 steals and guard Rogelio Ochoa (190-93) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ciego have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-3 record behind leader Villa Clara. Santiago at the other side stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Ciego will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santiago will play again against the league's second-placed Ciego (#2) and hope to secure a win.
