Regular Season Round 23: Macae - B.Cearense 69-79

Date: February 19, 2016
There was no surprise when 15th ranked Macae (5-16) was defeated at home by third ranked SKY/Basquete (15-7) 79-69 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by SKY/Basquete. Macae managed to win third quarter 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Eduardo Machado (193-82) helped adding 16 points. Four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. Eddy Carvalho (196-87) responded with 28 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Anderson Mosso (205-82, college: Chipola JC) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. SKY/Basquete maintains third place with 15-7 record having just three points less than leader Flamengo. Loser Macae stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. SKY/Basquete will meet at home Rio Claro (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Macae will play against Pinheiros (#7) in Sao Paolo and hope to secure a win.
