There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked UB Chartres (11-13) defeated at home higher ranked GET Vosges (13-10) 80-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. UB Chartres led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to GET Vosges' 28 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. UB Chartres looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (204-84, college: Northeastern, agency: Inception Sports) who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville, agency: Comsport) chipped in 16 points and 8 assists. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four UB Chartres players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St., agency: HMS) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Steven Ricard (200-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. GET Vosges' coach Laurent Mathis rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. UB Chartres moved-up to eleventh place. Loser GET Vosges keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. UB Chartres will face higher ranked Quimper UJAP (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
