Regular Season Round 20: Brindisi - Bologna 49-62

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Brindisi (4-16) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Bologna (12-8) 62-49 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bologna. Brindisi was better in second period 13-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brindisi to just 7 points in third quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Elisabetta Tassinari (175-94) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Bologna players scored in double figures. Guard Lorena Toscano (168-92) responded with 12 points and 4 assists and power forward Luigia Boccadamo (175-94) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Brindisi's coach Gaetano Ermito rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Bologna maintains fifth position in A2 with 12-8 record. Brindisi at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Bologna will face higher ranked San Pietro (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brindisi will play against Viareggio (#10) and hope to win that game.
