Ninth-ranked Dragonflies (11-23) gave a tough game to sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (17-19) in Saporro. Hokkaido L. managed to secure only two-point victory 61-59. However their fans expected easier game. Dragonflies were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Hokkaido L. brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) contributed with 7 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Dragonflies. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hokkaido L.. They maintain sixth place with 17-19 record. Dragonflies lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 23 games lost. Hokkaido L.'s next round opponent will be Chiba Jets (#7) at home. Dragonflies will play against Nishinomiya S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
