Second Stage Round 3: Musel Pikes - Sparta 86-77

Date: February 20, 2016
Rather expected game when Sparta (7-14) lost to Musel Pikes (16-5) in Stadrbredimus 77-86 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-17. But Sparta won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Musel Pikes made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Sparta turnovers. It was a good game for American power forward Clancy Rugg (203-91, college: Vermont, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Rashad Hassan (203-89, college: Savannah St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 20 rebounds and the former international forward Thierry Abdiu (195-87) added 16 points in the effort for Sparta. Four Sparta players scored in double figures. Sparta's coach Philippe Giberti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Musel Pikes will face Amicale in Steinsel in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sparta will play at home against T71 (#2) and hope to win that game.
