Regular Season Round 19: Quintanar - Real Canoe 85-72

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Quintanar. Second ranked Quintanar faced 4th placed Real Canoe. Host Quintanar (13-3) defeated guests from Madrid (9-7) 85-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Real Canoe. The game without a history. Quintanar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Real Canoe's 28. Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Cuban point guard Taylor Garcia (182-87) chipped in 16 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Quintanar players scored in double figures. Uruguayan-Greek forward Maximiliano Sole (198-88, agency: Duran International) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ignacio Fort (200-83) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Real Canoe's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Quintanar. They keep a position of Group B leader, which they share with Albacete. Newly promoted Real Canoe dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Quintanar will face Villarrobledo (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Real Canoe will play against La Roda (#11) and hope to win that game.
