Regular Season Round 40: Gigantes - Soles 78-69

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Soles (35-4) in Toluca on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Gigantes (14-22) 78-69. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Soles. Gigantes dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Soles' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Emmanuel Little (196-85, college: N.Dakota) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Edgar Garibay (208-90, college: Long Beach St.) who added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Little is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side international forward Juan Anderson (198-93, college: Marquette) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists and Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gigantes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Abejas. Soles at the other side still keep top position with four games lost. Gigantes is looking forward to face Panteras (#9) in Aguascalientes in the next round. Soles will play at home against Ciudad (#11) and are hoping to win this game.
