Important game to mention about took place in Caracas. Fourth ranked Guaros (11-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Panteras (7-13) 73-70 on Saturday evening. Panteras were ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 24-20 charge of Guaros, which allowed them to win the game. International center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Damien Wilkins (198-80, college: Georgia, agency: Priority Sports) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. Guaros' coach Nestor Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) came up with 24 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and the other American import guard Martin Samarco (190-85, college: Bowling Green) added 13 points respectively for Panteras in the defeat. Guaros maintains fourth place with 11-7 record. Panteras lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Guaros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Panteras will play on the road against the league's second-placed Marinos (#2) in Puerto La Cruz and hope to get back on the winning track.
