Regular Season Round 25: Slask 2 Wroclaw - Sokol Lancut 49-74

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Slask 2 Wroclaw (7-17) was outplayed at home by second ranked Sokol Lancut (22-3) 74-49 on Saturday. Sokol Lancut outrebounded Slask 2 Wroclaw 45-32 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Krzysztof Jakobczyk (183-86, agency: Promotex) fired 25 points for the winners. Swingman Jerzy Koszuta (192-82, agency: Promotex) chipped in 12 points. Center Pawel Mroz (214-84) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Norbert Kulon (187-92) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sokol Lancut. They maintain second place with 22-3 record having just two points less than leader Krosno. Newly promoted Slask 2 Wroclaw dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Biofarm PZN. Sokol Lancut will meet at home league's leader Krosno in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Slask 2 Wroclaw will play against Notec Inowr. (#9) in Inowroclaw and hope to secure a win.
