Regular Season Round 39: Fukushima - Tokyo Cinq R. 89-78

Very expected game when 12th ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (1-32) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Fukushima (20-13) 89-78 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-78. Fukushima shot 22 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Tokyo Cinq R. only scored four points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Stephan Van Treese (206-90, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Swingman Le'Bryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Malcolm Lemmons (193, college: CS San Marcos) who recorded 24 points and 8 rebounds and center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) added 8 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively. Four Tokyo Cinq R. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Fukushima maintains fifth place with 20-13 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their twenty sixth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 32 games lost. Fukushima will face again Tokyo Cinq R. (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
