Regular Season Round 39: Kanazawa Samuraiz - Hiroshima L. 114-55

Very predictable result in Ishikawa where seventh ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz (19-16) outscored 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-30) 114-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. Kanazawa Samuraiz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 26. Kanazawa Samuraiz forced 19 Hiroshima L. turnovers and outrebounded them 54-28 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kanazawa Samuraiz looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Yusuke Kodera (182-84) chipped in 27 points. Four Kanazawa Samuraiz players scored in double figures. Kanazawa Samuraiz's coach Yukinori Suzuki felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Tetsuya Maemura who recorded 14 points and forward Hiroshi Funayama (190-92) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Kanazawa Samuraiz maintains seventh place with 19-16 record. Hiroshima L. lost their seventeenth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 30 games lost. Kanazawa Samuraiz will face again Hiroshima L. (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
