Everything went according to plan when third ranked Cento (16-7) outplayed at home 9th ranked San Miniato (11-12) 86-62 on Saturday. Cento made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game, while San Miniato only scored three points from the stripe. Cento had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by San Miniato's players. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Daniele Demartini (187-84, agency: Players Group) contributed with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Four Cento players scored in double figures. Forward Roberto Bertolini (198-86) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds and Senegalese Serigne Sam Gaye (198-96) added 10 points in the effort for San Miniato. Cento maintains third place in B with 16-7 record having four points less than leader Forli. Newly promoted San Miniato dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Cento will face Oleggio (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Miniato will play against Bottegone (#14) and hope to win that game.
