Regular Season Round 19: Trepca - Bashkimi 86-87

The most exciting game of round 19 in the SuperLeague took place in Mitrovice. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Trepca (8-8) to third ranked Bashkimi (11-5) 87-86 in the game for the third place. Trepca trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 34-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 86-87 at the end of the game. Bashkimi forced 20 Trepca turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Trepca helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St., agency: PEPI SPORT) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Tre Bussey (190-91, college: Georgia South) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Forward Artin Gashi (202-93) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Kenny Rhymes (196-91, college: Texas Wesleyan) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Trepca players scored in double figures. Trepca's coach Neven Plantak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bashkimi maintains third place with 11-5 record having six points less than leader Peja. Trepca at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Bashkimi are looking forward to face league's second-placed Sigal Prishtina at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Trepca will play against Vellaznimi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
