Leader Tarbes recorded the sixteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked SIG (9-8) 83-62. The game was mostly controlled by Tarbes. SIG managed to win fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to SIG's 26. The former international center Elodie Bertal (191-84) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and guard Sylvie Gruszczynski (173-86, agency: Comsport) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Tarbes players scored in double figures. Forward Aline Fischbach (178-89) responded with 20 points and guard Celine Pfister (170-94) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixteenth consecutive win for Tarbes. They maintain first place with 16-1 record. SIG lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Reims. Tarbes will meet at home Avenir (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SIG will play against Dunkerque and hope to secure a win.
