Regular Season Round 20: Bolzano - Carugate 62-69

Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Carugate (8-12) beat on the road 13th ranked Bolzano (5-15) 69-62 on Saturday. Bolzano was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely Bolzano outrebounded Carugate 42-30 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Marta Scarsi (182-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Claudia Colli (178-96) who added 16 points during the contest. Guard Elena Zambarda (180-87) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Nicole Mora (160-91) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Carugate maintains eleventh position in A2 with 8-12 record. Newly promoted Bolzano keeps the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. Carugate will face higher ranked Alpo VR (#6) in Verona in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bolzano will play on the road against Virtus Cagliari (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
